70+ Patterns Uploaded for Toledo Bend
Toledo Bend, the legendary lake that sites on the Texas-Louisiana border, is the site of this week’s Bassmaster Elite Series event, and in prep for that we uploaded 70 tournament patterns to BassGold.com for the May, June, July timeframe.
What does that show? A more thorough analysis is on Bassmaster.com, but here are a few highlights:
> Macro Factor: Main Lake Offshore Structure – Duh, but it’s good to know what you think is true really is true, meaning the vast majority of tournament winners and high finishers at T-Bend tournaments this time of year fish offshore.
> Habitat Factor: Wood and Submergent Veg – If you want to finish high, fish underwater grass (another “duh” on the Bend). BUT if you want to win, find some wood. If you generate a Pattern Report for T-Bend for this time of year, you’ll clearly see that wood is the deal.
> Baits: The BassGold Pattern Report for T-Bend this time of year shows that “worm,” “crankbait,” “lizard/creature” and “jig-n-pig” are the best baits, in that order. And a quick surf of the pattern deets in the database shows that worms are big ones, of the 10-inch-plus variety.
In case you have any doubt BassGold works, check this out:
At last weekend’s windy EverStart on T-Bend, LA’s Glen Freeman won by fishing mid-lake ridges with timber using Texas-rigged 10.5-inch Yum MightEE worm (blue fleck) and a Booyah football jig with a Zoom Speed Craw trailer.
Have to mention that BassGold also accurately predicted the winning weight, averaging in the low 20s per day.
