BassGold Nails Two WI Elites!
This is getting more than a little eerie. Then again, data doesn’t lie.
BassGold.com predicted the upper Mississippi Elite would be won fishing shallow backwaters with frogs, swim-jigs and tube/grub/craws with a weight that averaged in the mid-teens per day.
Todd Faircloth won it with a frog, swim-jig and creature bait, and averaged 15-01 per day.
Lake Michigan-specific pattern data was scarce for this weekend’s Green Bay Elite – just hasn’t been many patterns reported for that lake – but BassGold data has proven that lakes of the same type (upland reservoir, natural lake, etc.) fish the same, even if they’re not in the same time zone or latitude.
Seriously, it’s true.
So we took a look at BassGold’s Lake Erie data, which showed that the tournament would be won on main lake offshore structure either dropshotting or with a tube, and winning weight would average in the low 20s per day.
Well, Jonathon VanDam won it dropshotting structure and averaged just below 20 pounds per day. The weight difference isn’t surprising since the Elites were hemmed into Green Bay thanks to the powers that be at the WI DNR.
[Weirdly, the exact bait that JVD won with – which isn’t even on the market yet – was covered in the daily BassBlaster (a BassGold-affiliated property) the week of the tournament.]
This all again proves two things:
1. Pattern data works.
2. BassGold is a brand new type of fish-patterning tool. Get familiar with it. It works!
Almost 4,000 Patterns!
With the addition of 40 patterns for the upper Mississippi River and more entered by BassGold members, we’re almost up to 4,000 patterns, having started the year at around 3,000 – and fyi in case you missed it, the vast majority of these patterns are exclusive to BassGold.
We should get to 4,000 in the next month or two. And the sky is literally the limit.
